"The Augusta Greys"

Our Staunton, VA based Civil War reenacting group takes its name from one of the original company belonging to the "Bloody 5th" Regiment of VA volunteers. The Augusta Greys were formed from men of the Greenville area of our own Augusta county. Along with the rest of the 5th VA, they saw action throughout the war for southern independance. As part of Thomas J. Jacksons "Stonewall Brigade" The Augusta Greys entered service in April of 1861 and endured as an icon of courage and fortitude throughout the conflict.
